Position Description: A M.S. assistantship is available for a highly motivated student to participate in inter-disciplinary research on the application of spatial and economic modelling in corn agronomy at Mississippi State University under Dr. Joby Czarnecki. The student will have the opportunity to gain experience with multiple aspects of precision agriculture and interact with faculty from diverse departments with the common goal of improving the data-driven decision-making ability of producers.
Conditions: With support from related faculty, the project duties assigned to the student include developing a literature review, data collection, developing models, conducting analyses, and reporting outcomes. The student will be expected to fulfill all degree requirements and where appropriate, publish results in peer-reviewed journals.
Qualifications: The most competitive candidates will have the following qualifications: 1) completed Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 2) undergraduate research related to the position, and 3) evidence of academic success. Preference will be given to those that are highly motivated, have strong communication skills, and strong quantitative skills.
