ISPA Officer Elections

The International Society of Precision Agriculture holds officer elections each year for board positions.  On even numbered years the ISPA membership will vote on the roles of President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer (four year term), North America Regional Representative, and Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Representative.  The results of the election will be announce during the International Conference on Precision Agriculture.  On odd numbered years the ISPA membership will vote on the roles of Africa Regional Representative, Asia/Oceania Regional Representative, and Europe Regional Representative.  The results of the election will be announced during the European Conference on Precision Agriculture. 
 
Candidates can be nominated by active ISPA members or by self-nomination.  All active ISPA members will have the opportunity to vote in the electronic election for the roles of President-Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer.  The Regional Representatives are elected by a majority vote of members from that region.  Prior to the election, the Board will review and approve the nominations.  
 

Solicitation of Board Nominations (Open February 1 - May 1 of election year)


The nomination committee of ISPA is requesting nominations for the following offices for the ISPA. 

  • President-Elect - (Two year appointment) to serve from July 2026 to July 2028, and then move to President for July 2028 to July 2030 and then to Past-President in 2030
  • Secretary - (Two year appointment) to serve from July 2026 to July 2028
  • North America Regional Representative - (Two year appointment) to serve from July 2026 to July 2028
  • Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Representative - (Two year appointment) to serve from July 2026 to July 2028

To nominate an individual:

  • The nominator must be a current member of ISPA.
  • The nominee must be a current member of ISPA.
  • Contact the nominee and verify that they are interested/available to serve as an officer. 
  • Submit a short CV or bio (2-pages)
  • A high resolution picture of nominee.
  • The nominatee must provide a vision statement for serving in this role. 
  • Provide contact information for the nominee and the nominator.
  • Please send nominations to nominations@ispag.org.

Nominations must be received by May 1, 2026.  

Elections will be held electronically.

Responsibilities of the President-Elect

The President-Elect starts the process of identifying the location for holding the International Conference of Precision Agriculture that will occur when he or she is president and once rotated into President position lead the organization effort of the conference. The President-Elect will also be responsible for collecting Board member nominations for any elections and working with the Executive Secretary on creating and distributing any e-mail or online ballots. The President-Elect will chair all ISPA awards committees with results announced during ICPA or similar precision agriculture conference.  Subject to the general control of the Board of Directors, if the President is not present, the President-Elect shall discharge all the usual functions of the President and shall have such other powers and duties as these Regulations, the Board of Directors or an officer authorized by the Board may prescribe. 

Responsibilities of the Secretary

The Secretary shall attend all meetings of the members and of the Board of Directors, and prepare, keep, or cause to be kept, a true and complete record and minutes of the proceedings of such meetings, and shall perform a like duty, when required, for all committees appointed by the Board of Directors. If the secretary is unable to attend a regular Board meeting, the meeting recording will be used to create the minutes or the secretary can identify another officer or the Executive Secretary to record the minutes during the Board meeting.

Responsibilities of the Regional Representative

The Regional Representatives and officers shall attend Board meetings regularly, if not all, and vote on motions. They will also represent the interest of the membership of the region they represent and contribute to the newsletter and other society programs and communications along with helping to identify Country Representatives. The Regional Representatives and officers serve as liaisons between the ISPA board and the members of the region they represent.
 
The five regions are based on the countries associated with the regional precision agriculture conferences: AAPA, AfCPA, CLAP and ECPA:

  • Europe
  • Latin America and the Caribbean
  • North America
