16th European Conference on Precision Agriculture - Save the Date
Dear colleagues,
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to attend the 16th European Conference on Precision Agriculture – ECPA 2027, to be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 11–15 July 2027. The conference is organized by the International Society of Precision Agriculture (ISPA), the ECPA Program Committee, and the Aarhus University (AU), with the collaboration of University of Copenhagen (KU).
Copenhagen is named as ‘the world’s most livable city’, recently claiming the top spot in 2025 on EIU’s Global Livability Index 2025, and with a metropolitan population of 1.3 million, Copenhagen is the 2nd most populous city in Scandinavia. Though smaller than many other Northern European cities, the Danish capital is known for organising successful, large-scale events in innovative, appealing settings. Copenhagen's meetings industry has a well-earned reputation for professionalism and extensive experience hosting international congresses and events.
Precision Agriculture (PA) has been an important topic at the Aarhus University and the University of Copenhagen for many years and recently a large number of research projects are being funded in the area of PA. In addition, Denmark is aiming at green transition through a government plan that is centered on a legally binding target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 70% by 2030 (compared to 1990 levels) and achieve climate neutrality by 2050. This strategy, driven by the newly created Ministry of Green Transition, involves a massive, cross-sectoral overhaul of agriculture, energy, and land use, highlighted by the June 2024 "Agreement on a Green Denmark". This means that PA has also responsibility of working towards sustainable production from an economic and environmental points of view. Consequently, hosting such a global event such as the ECPA will help us reach as many relevant stakeholders as possible. Precision Agriculture became a “buzz word” often abused, overused and misinterpreted. But, it is now a focus in most of the newly implemented EU legislation, so as scientists we have the responsibility to improve knowledge for the society as a whole. Therefore, the 16th ECPA will merge efforts to accomplish its goal of Precision Agriculture for a sustainable green transition.
At ispag.org/Events/ECPA you will find all the information related to the conference. As in all previous ECPA conferences, abstracts are invited to be considered for submission of short papers each will be reviewed by two reviewers following a peer-review process similar to scientific journals. A newsletter will be sent out to notify you once the abstract submission form has opened. Please see key dates below.
Looking forward to meeting you in Copenhagen.
Davide Cammarano on behalf of the Organizing Committee.
